OLDWAY HOUSE SWANSEA Copy 1200x745 (1)

T&T Facades has been awarded a 7500m2 cladding contract with new client WRW Construction. The project comprises the redevelopment of an existing 13-storey Swansea office block into much needed student housing. The existing city centre building will be extended to include the construction of an additional two storeys to the block creating Oldway House, consisting of 556 new en-suite student bedrooms including 12 studio apartments, a management area, show accommodation, common rooms, laundrette and a ground floor retail unit.

T&T Facades will be responsible for the design, supply and installation of the rainscreen cladding package on the scheme, comprising Rockpanel rainscreen and various ancillaries including flashings, cavity barriers and parapet coping.

The site is surrounded by commercial and residential buildings which will be mostly occupied during the construction works. T&T will therefore need to draw upon its extensive experience of delivering city centre projects which includes various hotels and high rise accommodation blocks. Alexandra House which adjoins the site is a live office building that will be occupied for the duration of the project.

Commenting, Tom Rutter, joint company owner said “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this project. WRW is a hugely respected and accomplished construction company and the whole team is very excited to be working with them. The Oldway House scheme perfectly suits our skills and experience having successfully delivered three multi-story student accommodation blocks in Southampton City Centre in the last 12 months alone.”

T&T Facades commence on site in November 2018.
