New Project: Musgrove Park Hospital
T&T Facades is delighted to be back working again with client Kier on a new, flagship surgical centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Somerset.
The new centre will replace the current hospital theatres and critical care unit and will include six endoscopy rooms, patient recovery and clinical support areas, eight operating theatres and 22 critical care beds.
T&T has been contracted to design, procure and install the new buildings façade which will include a cladding package of Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC), Fibre Cement, Standing Seam & PPC Aluminium Rainscreen.
The façade features an artist-produced distinctive ‘wave like’ design, which will be brought to life by the installation of various different sizes and colours of öko skin GRC planks, following a complex and precise pattern.
Tom Rutter, MD for T&T Facades commented “We were very pleased to pick up this prestigious project and be able to help out a previous client. The team can’t wait to get their teeth into this challenging façade installation.”
T&T has previously worked with Kier on another high profile medical project – the SCCI (Southampton Centre for Cancer Immunology). Rutter went on to say “we enjoyed a good working relationship with Kier at the SCCI and we are looking forward to replicating that successful partnership at Musgrove Park.”
T&T plan to start on site in April 2024. The new centre is scheduled to open in early summer 2025.
