69 BED TRAVELODGE CHIPPENHAM Web

With our latest hotel project due to start on site this spring, there’s no time for snoozing!

The new 69-Bed Travelodge Hotel in Chippenham, Wiltshire forms part of a wider development which will see the delivery of 400 new homes, Aldi Supermarket, cafe, public open space and highway improvements.

T&T Facades has won the contract to design, supply and install the cladding and render package for existing client WRW. The four storey new build will be clad in Marley Eternit cementitious rainscreen panels; T&T will also be installing ancillary elements such as column casings and soffits.

Commenting, joint company owner Tom Rutter said “our growing portfolio of successfully delivered hotel projects will stand us in great stead in Chippenham. It’s great to be working with the WRW team again with whom we’ve developed a good relationship”.

News Business Excellence Awards Logo FINALIST

With a record number of entries received by the organisers, T&T Facades is delighted to have made the shortlist of The News (Portsmouth) Business Excellence Awards 2019 in the ‘Medium Business of the Year’ category.

The category is designed “to recognise outstanding performance by a company that has a workforce of 24 or fewer. The business must have a clear vision and plans for the future, consideration of international markets, innovation and creativity and overcoming challenges”.

Based in Fareham, Hampshire and operating since 2000, T&T Facades has achieved consistent high levels of growth and is responsible for the design and construction of a number of iconic buildings in the South region. Commenting on the news, joint company owner Tom Rutter said “it’s great for your company to be recognised by your peers in the region where you live and work. We’ve delivered a number of projects for our clients in Portsmouth and across the South which we are very proud of. Being nominated for this award is down to the skills and hard work of our staff and they should all be very proud of themselves.”

Members of the team will now face a judges interview early in the new year, with the overall winner being announced at the awards ceremony at the Portsmouth Guildhall on 1st February 2019.

This news comes on the back of the company also being nominated in the Construction News Specialists Awards 2019 for their work on a 12 storey student accommodation block – Cumberland Place in Southampton for client Bennett Construction.

Final Montage Web

Throughout November, the T&T office looked like the set of a 2nd rate ‘70’s movie starring characters like Ned Flanders and Buffalo Bill! But it was all in a good cause – to support the Movember Foundation, to stop men dying too young.

Team ‘Tash & Tash’ consisting of Dan Jarnak, Jon Cockle, Merv Yeadon, Bill Pearce, Darren Jewell and Mike Stanton all threw themselves into the challenge and by the end of the month were sporting some spectacular hairy lips!

The team raised £590 which will go a long way in helping men’s health and we are all very proud of them.

T&T Facades is delighted to announce being nominated a finalist in the Construction News Specialists Awards 2019 for our work on Cumberland Place – a 12-storey, student accommodation block in Southampton city centre for client Bennett Construction. We’ve been shortlisted in the category of ‘Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor (subcontract between £1m to £3m).’

T&T Facades tendered for this cladding contract in the wake of the Grenfell disaster and naturally the specification and installation needed to be very high. We also ran this job simultaneously alongside another 12-storey accommodation block in East Street, Southampton making logistical planning very challenging.

Commenting on the award news, Tom Rutter, joint company owner said “Being shortlisted for a Construction News Specialists Award is just amazing. It is testament to the hard work, diligence and commitment of the whole team and we couldn’t be prouder of this achievement”. He added “This is a very high-profile platform with which to promote our services further and we’re excited about the opportunities this could present”.

Representatives of the company have now been invited to present their entry in person to the award judges at Construction News HQ in February, with the winner being announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 27th March 2019.

Bridgwater Gateway Premier Inn CGI Web

T&T Facades has been appointed the façade contractor for the Premier Inn hotel at the new £150m, Bridgwater Gateway business park in Somerset.

Working with client Carter Lauren Construction, T&T will design, supply and install the new 100-bedroom, three-storey hotel’s cladding package and various ancillaries. The striking curved façade with interesting projecting features will be constructed with a Marley Eternit rainscreen cladding system.

Located on one of the prime road frontage plots near the entrance to the 100-acre site, groundworks are already underway and T&T Facades expect to start on site early in the new year.

Tom Rutter, T&T joint company owner, commented “We’re delighted to be working again with Carter Lauren on this prestigious project. The complex curved design plays well to our design and engineering strengths and this being our fourth Premier Inn contract now, the project couldn’t be in safer, more experienced hands; the team is very excited to get started”.

OLDWAY HOUSE SWANSEA Copy 1200x745 (1)

T&T Facades has been awarded a 7500m2 cladding contract with new client WRW Construction. The project comprises the redevelopment of an existing 13-storey Swansea office block into much needed student housing. The existing city centre building will be extended to include the construction of an additional two storeys to the block creating Oldway House, consisting of 556 new en-suite student bedrooms including 12 studio apartments, a management area, show accommodation, common rooms, laundrette and a ground floor retail unit.

T&T Facades will be responsible for the design, supply and installation of the rainscreen cladding package on the scheme, comprising Rockpanel rainscreen and various ancillaries including flashings, cavity barriers and parapet coping.

The site is surrounded by commercial and residential buildings which will be mostly occupied during the construction works. T&T will therefore need to draw upon its extensive experience of delivering city centre projects which includes various hotels and high rise accommodation blocks. Alexandra House which adjoins the site is a live office building that will be occupied for the duration of the project.

Commenting, Tom Rutter, joint company owner said “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this project. WRW is a hugely respected and accomplished construction company and the whole team is very excited to be working with them. The Oldway House scheme perfectly suits our skills and experience having successfully delivered three multi-story student accommodation blocks in Southampton City Centre in the last 12 months alone.”

T&T Facades commence on site in November 2018.

I’m sure Dan and Jon will be a fantastic asset to us; I thank them for joining our team and wish them every success in their roles.”

Robert Clack Extension

T&T Facades is delighted to have secured an additional project at the Robert Clack school campus in Dagenham, Essex, increasing our contract value to c£1m. Currently on site at the lower school, where we are installing the façade on two new teaching blocks, T&T will shortly begin further works at the upper school where we will be delivering the full façade for the sports hall refurb and extension and a new entrance building designed by Bond Bryan Architects. The façade package consists of fibre cement rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, windows and doors.

The extensive construction worked commissioned by Robert Clack school will make it the largest secondary school in England.

Commenting, joint company owner Tom Rutter said “It’s great to have been asked by Mid Group to extend our works at Robert Clack which is testament to the good relationships we have developed over a number of projects. The Robert Clack campus is an impressive facility and we are proud to play a part in their development plans.”

SR2018 Web

The team at T&T Facades really rose to the challenge, getting involved in all sorts of fundraising activities in aid of Sport Relief 2018. Donned in Sports Gear, activities included a cake bake sale, the “Jonnie Peacock” steps challenge sweepstake, ping pong and the old classic “Gator Golf”!

Head of Marketing, Mo Morgan commented: “It was great to see the team getting behind such a great cause. The cake eating was a real challenge but most of the team managed that activity! It was a lot of fun and we raised money at the same time. A good day at the office!”
